We went to the Computer History Museum again the other day, armed with cameras. This is the entrance (well...the sign for the current exhibit at the entrance).

April is National Poetry Month. I don't promise a poem a day, but at least a few poems will appear...and I'll mix it up with some images that could be seen as poetic. (If you look at them a certain way...) We start with a signpost. Let's see what's inside together, eh?

And this should be the last of the Holiday Haikus. Emma asked for "bear(s)" so I hope that this works for her. Happy holidays to all and sundry!

Here's the next holiday haiku. This one is for my friend JM who asked for "Snow." I hope that this works for her. (I took the photo below when I was on my way through Yosemite to get out the other side. Yep. It was a shortcut.)

I think it's actually Summer where she is. )

So, here are a couple of fun pics that are vaguely related. You see, in the Magic Kingdom, they have a ride/game called Astro Blasters, that features Buzz Lightyear. This is our best score. Also, I think we look pretty Badass. ;) (Please note that my hubby actually ranked.)

yep...that's us... )

While we were wandering about at the (rather under construction) Disney's California Adventure, we ran across something that caused a bit of a...geek moment. (Caution, this post is very full of photos.)

The Grid... )

Far too early on Saturday morning, I got up and drove for a relatively traffic-free hour (instead of the feared two hours of gridlock) to arrive for the original reason I made the trip down south. The wedding of my beloved Evil Twin.

(Okay, it's actually only one podcast, but it sounded better in the plural. You know how it is, yeah?)
I believe that I mentioned that a podcast asked to use one of my poems? Well, it's been posted, and here it is: The Jackass-Penguin Show's Jazzy Selection (episode 7) (warning: it starts playing on load). If you like modern Jazz, you might think about subscribing.

And now back to my holiday snaps. When last we we saw our intrepid travelers, they had arrived at their destination, and were off having fun.

(We continue our story already in progress...)

After missing breakfast, we headed off into the cow-scented air to get some...breakfast.

You can expect many pictures from my trip in the days to come, so consider yourself warned. ...But first, let me say that I'm pretty sure that my husband has invented Extreme Disneying. I wish I'd brought a step counter. Egad.

So, beginning where I must at the beginning...

We left for SoCal Thursday evening, a bit later than expected. At some point in the dark of the night, we stopped at a random Denny's.

I live right near the trash compactor for my apartment complex.

...As a result, people leave all kinds of things behind my car, that I then have to maneuver around to get out of (or into) my parking space. So, of course, I've started taking pictures of this profusion of items to share with you all. Here are the first two:

And this is the lonely road that we traveled to continue on our way to our next stop.

Once we left Reno, we headed for Tioga Pass. On the way we stopped for provisions in Carson City (I can't seem to get used to the idea of gambling in a grocery store.)

Seriously, though. I wish I could just wander through the National Automobile Museum at whim.

During our recent trip to Reno, I insisted that we walk across town and go to the museum. My husband didn't know what to make of this, but he's used to me by now. That and he knows about my car obsession. He needn't have worried. He loves old cars. I think he took pictures of the whole place. I have no room to talk, as I did that last time. So, here are the two pics I took with my camera phone this time around.

I'm not touching your cars... )

This piece of fountain art lurks in the El Dorado Hotel/Casino in Reno, NV. I should mention that this isn't even half of the display. I think it's Neptune that I had my back to. Eep.

...he was in an elevator with a Viking. Too bad I didn't get a photo. I did, however, get an image of the view from my window during my recent trip to Reno.

I didn't photograph any of the zombies either )
