Crones like to poison young beautiful women, Young beautiful women get the man and the castle in the end, your fairy godmother will fix everything, the prince has to be handsome (and save the princess all inthe same story), gold can be spun out of mundane objects such as hay, silver, copper, bread, or hair, little old men are dwarves.
