Well, I keep meaning to update this, but as many of y'all know I'm lazy.
Well, actually it turns out that I'm more apathetic than lazy, but there you are.
So, this year I've decided to *do* things.
I've never been so busy...well, not since my first semester of grad school, anyway. That was when I was going to school full time, and filming on weekends.
I recently found myself scheduling stuff a month in advance. While this part is not unusual (I practically live in the future) I can't believe I'm actually scheduling social events. Me. The one who until recently had no social life. This year I've started dancing again. I love dancing. I always have. I'm not the best dancer, I have much to learn, but I don't suck too much. I believe that much of my newfound socialness is due to a small group of friends that is pulling me out of my social inertia.
Yeah, that's one way to put it.
Social inertia or social apathy.
Choose one.
At work I'm doing a whole bunch of purchasing for the new library in Downtown Vacaville.
So far I've purchased (this year):
the Adult 500s (science and math for those of you not in the know)
Young Adult NonFiction (all)
Young Adult Fiction (Hardback) (all)
Young Adult Fiction (Paperback) (all)
and I'm working on:
Cds (music) Young Adult/Adult
Adult Sci Fi/Fantasy.
It's quite a lot of work for all that it will look good on a resume. On top of this is the usual Young Adult programming (Book Club, Poetry Night) and unusual programming (the How to Be a Princess program). Plus the newspaper article that was due today. The working on the reference desk thing (with accompanying weird patrons). Oh, and did I mention the proofreading I'm doing for Chris's company?
I'm exhausted. And my house is a mess. Well, tiny apartment, anyway. Laundry not done. No place wo put stuff away. I'm running out of things to get rid of.
So to sum up. Social inertia bad. Dancing good. Friends fun. Work hard. House messy. Me tired.
When do I get to go to Disneyland again?
