Evening Weirdness
Jun. 10th, 2005 11:48 pmSo, my sweetie and I went for a drive this evening.
We drove down several dark back roads, and finally we had to turn around and retrace our steps as we had reached a dead end.
And that's when we saw it.
Could that be Lightning?
We scanned the sky. Hmmm...moon, stars, and a strange flickering light in the distance. It *looked* like lightning, but in a not-quite-right way.
It looked like a relatively small cloud all alone in the sky...that was almost constantly flickering with light.
Science-Man and I were intrigued. Shouldn't there be a recharge period if it was, indeed, lightning?
(unless...maybe Thor was roaming around for some reason...)
So, off we went, in pursuit of this strange lonely cloud.
At one point, down another dark back road as we were trying to keep track of our quarry we saw a shooting star fall directly ahead of us.
Weird. Hmm...
Eventually, somewhere along the 505 we realized that we were indeed chasing a lone cloud that was vaguely cigar shaped. Small at the end an thin and long in the middle.
It was also moving away from us. So, eventually we had to turn around and go home. It was getting late, and we didn't seem to be getting any closer.
At least we determined that we were not seeing things...but somewhere out there is a very localized storm.
On the way home, I also noticed that the moon had turned yellow.
