It's a *languages* meme...I couldn't resist...
1. Which languages do you know? How did you learn them (e.g. natively, from classes, by immersion)?
American English (native), British English (too much British TV), Catlin shorthand (that's what we speak at my Parents' place), French (I have a degree, but I have forgotten much), Russian (2 years of study), Latin (a couple of classes), Spanish (Sesame Street, a class in Library Spanish, and various other bits), Scottis (a few words), Scots Gaelic (a few words), Quenya (a few words)...
2. Which language would you most like to learn? Why?
Ummmmm...so basically you've never seen my hoard of language books? kay then...something dead, moribund, or terribly obscure.
Like...Manx, Quenya, Gaelic, Java, Basque, Minbari, Cornish, middle french...oh! also, I want to learn Romanian.
3. Have you visited any places where you did not know the predominent language? If so, which ones? Was it hard to manage?
Mexico....and all I could think of was French.
4. Which language do you most enjoy hearing, seeing, or expressing? Why?
Ack. Ummmm...Quenya or one of the Gaelics. French is fun, too.
5. Which languages, other than the one(s) you know, are you exposed to your daily life?
Hindi (I like the films), Spanish (at work), and various programming languages.
