The Mikado: a Review
Mar. 13th, 2005 01:16 pmSo, I went to see one of the local High Schools' version of The Mikado last thursday.
The short version of my review: It was good! It turns out that the Vacaville School district manages to have quite the arts program. Huzzah for them!
Perhaps the Librarians could learn from them about getting corporate sponsership, but I digress.
( The Longer Review )
Tonight I'm going to see Colin Mocherie and Brad Sherwood in Davis!

Tonight I'm going to see Colin Mocherie and Brad Sherwood in Davis!
I have seen the snack fairy...
Mar. 13th, 2005 11:07 pmAnd he was hilarious.
I cannot express to you how funny Colin Mocherie and Brad Sherwood are in person.
The place was packed, and it seemed to be an incredibly pro-Colin crowd.
There were the group of ladies with the We Love Bald Men shirts, another group that screamed "Colin is Sexy", plus the one lady that Colin kissed proceeded to do one of those "Metal!" "Rock on" stances right afterword.
A few highlights:
MC Tom and Colin the Beat-Box
Brad having to figure out a "crime" that he supposedly commited (devised by Colin and the audience while he was out of the room).:
While wearing a translucent wet suit, tutu, and a jameriquoi hat
he killed a smurf with a flying monkey, made his mother clip his toe nails with her mouth, and molested a penguin
In Killauea at the Renaissance Toilet Products and Dentistry Office
With a Melon and a Port-a-potty
(it took a while, but he got it).
The best game of sound effects *ever*.
A game of "Moving People" that involved someone fondling Colin's Butt
A longish game of "Who's Line" in which they actually used my line: "Are you the Pope?"
And finally...the alphabet game, while barefoot and blindfolded...in the midst of 100 set mousetraps.
(After a bit, they started trying to throw the mousetraps at each other)
We had a fabulous time! I laughed so hard, I have a feeling that I'll have sore muscles tomorrow.
