Hello all.
Tonight's question is brought to you by my eager anticipation of National Novel Writing Month.
If you could do an updated version of (or just general re-write of) any fairy tale...which one would you choose?
Umm...keeperofquills? Which one would you do that you haven't done?

Ok, now talk amongst yourselves. (already gave you a topic) :)

I've not got a clue... I'm rather fond of the dancing slippers (10 princesses, secret passages, midnight balls, tattered dancing slippers, betrayal, marriages, so on and so forth...) or the Goblin King, which isn't really a fairy tale in the same sense, but I think needs to be played with...

I figure if I do another it will be Hansel and Gretel. I'd also consider Beauty and the Beast and the Prince and the Pauper.

Fairytales

Fairy Tales have some seriously stereotyped issues.
Crones like to poison young beautiful women,
Young beautiful women get the man and the castle in the end,
your fairy godmother will fix everything,
the prince has to be handsome (and save the princess all inthe same story),
gold can be spun out of mundane objects such as hay, silver, copper, bread, or hair,
little old men are dwarves.

Please refer to the Politically Correct Fairytales book that can most likely be found at your local library for a more complete and politically correct version of all fairytales.
